Update on the Building Better Opportunities programme
Building Better Opportunities is a programme that is funded through the European Union and the Big Lottery. The Staffordshire Community Foundation has been involved in ‘Team Staffordshire’, a group of organisations who came together to submit a bid for this programme, with a view to involving smaller community and voluntary organisations from around the county who would be unable to be involved on their own. Through consultation with these organisations three separate lead organisations were chosen – The Staffordshire Community Foundation, who would lead in the south-east of the county, (Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire, Lichfield & Tamworth), Business Enterprise Support who would lead in the south-west of the county, (South Staffordshire and Stafford), and Landau, who would lead in North Staffordshire, (Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire Moorlands and Stoke on Trent). We received expressions of interest from over 90 organisations who wished to be involved in the delivery of this programme. The closing date for applications for the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent area was Monday 30th November and the bids for the three areas covered by Team Staffordshire has now been submitted.
We would like to thank everyone who has submitted an expression of interest and all those organisations who have shown support to the Staffordshire Community Foundation and to the wider group of Team Staffordshire. We do not expect to hear about this bid until March of next year, but as soon as we have more information we will issue an update.
