The Community Foundation for Staffordshire is a member of UKCF, (UK Community Foundations), a national network for all accredited Community Foundations across the country. They represent our interests at a national level and help people and organisations to invest in local communities where it is most needed and where it will make most impact.
The network currently consists of 46 Community Foundations, covering the whole of the United Kingdom and giving an unparalleled reach into local communities. Each Community Foundation has an in depth understanding of their local area, what the priority needs are and how best to address these issues. We are able to direct donors to fund causes that they are not only passionate about but that will make the most difference.
Community Foundations are the only way for local people to give right to the heart of their communities wherever they live across Britain. We can address the widest possible range of issues and intervene in the hardest to reach communities. As a result Community Foundations support local projects on a range of issues, such as poverty alleviation; emergency crisis response; and youth engagement to name but three. For example, nationally we have provided communities with a huge amount of support in the aftermath of last year’s floods.
The network of accredited Community Foundations gives grants totalling over £65 million annually, making us one of the UK’s largest grant-giving organisations. But the need is growing and so must we.
Regardless of the national picture, having local Community Foundations means that when you choose to give locally, the funding stays local.
