Marketing and Newsletters from The Community Foundation – Grants
The Community Foundation for Staffordshire will use some of the data you provide to us for marketing purposes. Usually you will either have to ‘opt in’ to receive these communications, unless we feel there is a ‘legitimate interest’ in using this data for marketing. There are several ways we may use this, and so they are detailed below, along with examples of ‘Opt-in’, ‘legitimate interest’ and how you can stop these communications.
Marketing for grants
We issue a quarterly newsletter to anyone who has applied for a grant from The Community Foundation. This newsletter only contains details of new funding opportunities. If you have chosen to ‘opt-out’ of receiving these communications, you will not receive this quarterly e-mail.
We also issue ‘funding alerts’, which give details of funding opportunities when they first open and when they are due to close. These alerts are only sent to people who are working in the area to which they apply. For example, if you are working in Stafford, you will only receive funding alerts that apply to Stafford.
If you would like to receive funding alerts for another area, or an additional area, or you have not applied for a grant but you want to receive the grants alerts anyway, you can ask to be added to that area’s mailing list. We will do this straight away.
From September 2017 you will need to ‘opt-in’ to receive any of these grants communications, and there will be a question on all of our application forms to complete to say you either do or do not want to receive these communications. If this question is not completed, we will call or e-mail you to ask you the question again. You do not have to consent to receiving further mailings in order to be eligible for a grant from The Community Foundation.
If you no longer wish to receive these communications, or grants alerts for a particular area, then please get in touch with us and we will make the necessary changes immediately.
There is a link at the bottom of each communication from us allowing you to unsubscribe. By clicking this link, you will be preventing us contacting you with any e-mail marketing. If you only want to stop certain sorts of e-mails from us, please contact us directly.
You may also register with the Fundraising Preference Service. This is a new service which will allow you to opt out of receiving communications from us and from other charities. Again, by using this service you will prevent all e-mail marketing communications from us, and so again, if you only want to stop certain communications, please contact us detailing which ones you wish to ‘opt-out’ of. The link to the Fundraising Preference Service is https://www.fundraisingregulator.org.uk/the-fundraising-preference-service/
If we hold your details when they were gathered by you not ‘opting-out’ we will be in touch over the next few months to ask whether you wish to continue receiving these funding e-mails.
If you have not opened a funding e-mail from us for a period of 12 months, we will automatically stop sending them to you, unless you request otherwise.
