J & O Lloyd Trust Bursaries
This page relates to bursaries for students only. For community grants from the J & O Lloyd Trust please click here.
The J & O Lloyd Trust offers bursaries to students from schools* in Burton on Trent or Barton under Needwood who have gained a place at either of the following:-
- A Cambridge University College, to read any subject.
- A leading Academy for the performing arts; specifically the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the Royal Ballet School, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, Bristol Old Vic, the Royal Academy of Music and the Birmingham and Manchester Conservatoires. Other academies may be considered.
Each bursary is normally granted for three years at around £500 per year. As the Trust has a fixed budget for bursaries, the amount of each one will depend, each year, on the number granted. Trustees retain the right to determine the bursaries to be awarded and no correspondence can be entered into.
If you wish to apply for a bursary, please complete the application form and return it to us once a college has confirmed that you have a place. Your application must be received by 30th June. You will then need to confirm by 1st September that you are taking up the place.
We will let you know before the start of your first term whether your application has been successful. You will receive the bursary once it is confirmed that you have arrived at your university or Academy and commenced your course.
*Students from the following schools are currently eligible to apply, subject to the remaining criteria being met;
- Abbot Beyne School
- De Ferrers Academy
- John Taylor High School
- Paget High School
